Silver Gummy’s Newest Grantees

Welcoming WITS and HOPElab to Our Community

Silver Gummy is always looking to fund innovative organizations that support our mission and are willing to communicate and collaborate with other stakeholders.

We are thrilled to introduce our newest grantees to the Silver Gummy Community!

Welcome Wits and Hope Project!

Started in 1998, The WITS Programs (formerly Rock Solid) Foundation is a Canadian charity dedicated to nonviolence in society, safe school and community environments for kids, and providing children with the tools to respond to negativity. They train educators and community leaders in their whole-community approach to ending peer victimization and bullying. The award-winning WITS Programs started in Victoria and has since spread into elementary schools across Canada, into the USA, Brazil, and – most recently – Belgium.

Since 2019, WITS has brought the Pink Shirt Day messages of resilience and kindness to children and youth in a nationally-broadcast show held on the last Wednesday each February, on Canada’s Pink Shirt Day.

HOPELab research focuses on building healthy relationships as a foundation for well-being in childhood and adolescence. Their lab collaborates with a number of community and research partners both provincially and nationally.

Currently, their projects fall into three areas:

  1. Evaluating healthy relationships/mental health promotion activities in school and community settings
  2. Developing and evaluating implementation support tools for school-based mental health/healthy relationships service delivery
  3. The prevention of adolescent dating violence.

We are so happy to be a part of the success of these programs.
